Radio Electrical Artificer 4th Class

I served on this survey ship 1952 - 1953 as the Radio Electrical Artificer responsible for the Radar & radio equipment onboard. As there was not very much electronics to maintain I spent most of the time logging data for the survey groups e.g. sextant readings, sea depth and type of sea bed. With my next promotion I had to leave the ship and return to normal RN duties.

This was taken when the ship was anchored off Lyme Regis one weekend during the survey of that part of coast. You can just make out Scott in the background. We surveyed all week but each weekend we anchored off either Dartmouth, Bridport, or Lyme Regis etc.

This was taken on the bridge of Scott while at Dartmouth, as you can see I am in working gear. You can see the Decca Positional equipment in the case that I am leaning on.
