I was stationed on HMS Sharpshooter from mid 1949 to 1950 or 1951 my
records of my navy service are in the house somewhere.
It was my first ship after training on joining
in 1948; I was a Stoker and made up to a Stoker Mechanic whilst I was on
        board ship.

The ship was a survey vessel when I joined her and remained so until I
left her. The ship surveyed from Dungeness on the south coast up to
Moray Firth in Scotland, majority of our surveying time was spent
surveying for sunken wrecks and sand banks from the Thames to the Wash.
        I
spent many happy hours on the Sharpshooter and keep a photograph of here
in my front room taken off the East Coast where she is actually
surveying for a wreck. As for names of the crew I can't remember them as
it was more than 50 years ago, I'm 72 in April but not loosing my
marbles just old age. I can remember that I slung my hammock over the
hatch to the POs mess deck.

Sorry I can't tell you any more but if you want to come back to please
        do not hesitate.
        I
        live in Lancashire

        Bye for now, regards
