I am the younger daughter
of Chief Petty Officer Cornelius Stephen Collins of H.M.S. Bramble. He
was a native of Clonakilty. Co. Cork .Southern Ireland. He met my
Mother in Weymouth when he was based at Portland, They lived in her
home town of Ledbury, Herefordshire. They moved to Ventnor in the Isle
of Wight in 1938. Last year I went to Loch Ewe to see the memorial to
those who did not return from Russian Convoys. This year I visited a
church in Guiseley where a memorial service for the crew of The
Bramble is said every New Year's Day |
